All our varieties are developed under the traditional system of improvement and selection.
We formally state that, in our company, we don’t use any kind of genetically modified organisms (GMO) in any of our improvement processes.
The improvement stage takes place in our facilities located in Puerto Varas and the selection process is carried out both in Puerto Varas and in 3 other agro-climatic zones in order to determine the best adaptability.
To determine the relation with diseases, we perform inoculation tests with Late Blight (Phytophtora infestans), Common Scab (Streptomyces scabies) and we utilize molecular marker techniques for Golden Nematode (Globodera rostochiensis), Potato Cyst Nematode (Globodera pallida) and to the Potato Virus Y (PVY).
TRAUKO-NS
It is a variety with fast and aggressive growth, with good abiotic stress tolerance, it shows a high recovery capacity after foliar damage as well as a great root development.
